Course Outline
This course will introduce students to both descriptive and univariate inferential statistical procedures used commonly in social science research.

Three different aspects of statistical reasoning will be emphasized:

  • Computer applications using SPSS
  • Appropriate uses of univariate statistics

The topics we will cover include descriptive summary statistics, correlation, regression, t-tests, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Very little time will be spent on data manipulation and data transformation (as these topics are covered in the SPSS Application)
