Course Outline

Lessons

Certified Scrum Trainer® Mark Levison leads a live, instructor-led online three-day Scrum Product Owner course (five hours of training each day). This workshop covers Agile techniques used to develop and manage products with Scrum teams. The training includes a mix of direct instruction, discussion, and practical exercises in a small group environment with an emphasis on Agile and Scrum techniques which help Product Owners improve quality and deliver products on-time. Registrants who attend a virtual course will have the option to attend the same training in a future in-class course at no additional cost.

The workshop itself is just the beginning of a long-term relationship of support and community that you’ll find with Agile Pain Relief, to help you effectively implement change, create stability, and succeed long-term. Included in your registration is a series of Continuous Learning Exercise emails and exclusive access to our Community forum, to provide extra value and support beyond the initial training.

The course qualifies for 15 PDUs, and registration includes the cost of certification as well as two years of Scrum Alliance membership. It also provides ongoing access to all course material and support resources, which evolve and update after each workshop.

This three-day workshop runs each day from:

11:00am to 4:40pm EDT

Other time zones:
8:00am to 1:40pm PDT
9:00am to 2:40pm MDT and CST
10:00am to 3:40pm CDT
12:00pm to 5:40pm ADT
12:30pm to 6:10pm NDT

This allows for shorter days (5 hours of training) to avoid “Zoom fatigue”, and a 40 minute lunch break, each day.

Live, online, instructor-led Certified Scrum training. Virtual learning will be delivered using a combination of video conferencing and other online tools (currently Zoom, Mural, and Google Docs).

Attendee feedback from one of our online workshops:

“I thought that you did a wonderful job of interacting with all of us and keeping us all engaged throughout the entire two days. I felt really involved and the technology components worked well. (Zoom – break out rooms; Mural for visualizing work and concepts; Google docs – team activities). They all came together really well. It was nice to be able to see and hear people; as in-person as one could be given the circumstances.”

More Than Just a Workshop

We hear it often. Agile has been brought in to your workplace to combat delivery dates drifting out to sea. Which sounds great in principle, but you worry. Is it going to be yet another oh-so-magical framework that will result in a lot of sunk dollars, a boring training experience, and the team regressing back to old, comfortable habits soon after?
Scrum done poorly can cause more harm than good. That’s why we don’t just teach Scrum and then send you off to flounder and figure the rest out. We help far beyond the workshop as you transition to Scrum and Agile.

First, with training that isn’t dull. Think about it, you’re taking a two-day course but Mark does this all year long – do you think he wants to be bored either? Not a chance. So we’ve made it fun.

“Insanely terrific. I have been bored silly at some Agile training classes. This was 100% interesting… okay, 98%. Very clear, Exceptional memory! I get it now – the value of a *real* pro scrum master.” ~ Simon Crum

“Going into this training course my expectation was between boring and somewhat engaging as per my previous experience with training. I was pleasantly surprised. I found Mark entertaining and the course material laid out in a way as to keep the class engaged and interactive at all times. Well done. Will not hesitate to recommend your class(es) to anyone.” ~ Jean-Michel Hurtubise

Then a series of follow-up emails will give the motivation and great ideas that you’ll get during the workshop a place to land and start paying off, so they don’t just fizzle away. These are bonuses, not mandatory, and you can work through them at your own pace. We’ll give additional tips and guidance on how to develop new practices and deal with challenges that you didn’t even know you had. This follow-up series is all in addition to the workshop, and it’s all included in your registration cost.

The workshop itself is just the beginning of a long-term relationship of support and community that you’ll find with Agile Pain Relief, to help you effectively implement change, create stability, and succeed long-term.
