Microsoft Visio is a very powerful digital diagramming tool which allows users to create a wide range of diagrams and charts such as flow charts, database diagrams and mind maps. It features vector-based graphics that allow diagrams to be resized to incredibly large and small sizes, and manipulated easily, without loss of clarity. 
 
Learning Objectives:
In this course, you will become familiar with Visio and its features. You will learn how to insert and work with drawings, and to format and arrange various shapes. Additionally, you'll insert other objects such as pictures, text boxes, charts, and CAD drawings. Formatting and managing pages will be covered, as well as learning how to apply the finishing touches to polish and distribute your work. You will:
- Create professional diagrams quickly with shapes, using formatting options and tools
- Learn how to use the Shapes Pane
- Add shapes and use connectors
- Arrange shapes using Auto Align and Auto Space
- Work with formatting text
- Insert charts, CAD drawings, local and online pictures, and text boxes
- Format page themes, variants, and backgrounds
- Insert pages and background pages
- Use Presentation Mode
- Use multiple methods to save and distribute your drawings
 
Target Student:
Visio is a very adaptable program that can be used by almost everyone, whether students or professionals in an enterprise environment, to increase productivity and improve the communication of ideas. This course is for all new Visio users to help them become familiar with the program and how they can use it to create professional diagrams, to brainstorm ideas, design organizational charts, or illustrate business processes.

Philippe was really good at catering the training to our needs. He figured out what our prior knowledge was on the topic and went from there istead of having us go over things we already knew. If we had been in a group setting this would not have been possible. He also was helpful in letting us know how the 2003 version was different from the 2010. We therefore purchased an additional training manual for the 2010 version as we recently had it installed on our workstations.

There was a little mix up with the time the course was to be held. The website said 9-4 but it should have been 10-5, so when I arrived no one was there. However, it was dealt with quickly after a call and the trainer arrived quickly. I was the only person attending the course, it was very informative and it allowed us to touch on all of the questions I had specifically.

The room was bit too cold in the morning and quite warm in the afternoon, so I would recommend wearing layers for comfort! I would highly recommend this course.
