Are you just getting started with Dynamics 365 Business Central and want to get up to speed fast? Are you considering using Business Central and would like to know more about what it is and how it can help your company? This class is the perfect answer either way.  If you are in the process of implementing the system or are a relatively new user, we’ll help you quickly feel confident and ready to use Business Central for your core operations and financials. If you’re evaluating moving to Business Central, this class we’ll provide the fundamentals you need to plan out this important transition for your company.

Spend a week with us going deep into the functional capabilities of Business Central to establish a solid foundation for understanding how the software works and what it can do. We recommend, if appropriate, that you attend the class with at least one of your teammates in order to maximize your learning and identify immediate application to your company’s processes.

The agenda for the class is as follows (subject to change):

Day 1 (1 p.m. – 5 p.m.) - Business Central Introduction

  • Overview
  • Create and Maintain Customer Records
  • Create and Maintain Vendor Records

Day 2 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) - Selling with Business Central

  • Customers and Contacts
  • Sales Pipeline and Sales Cycle
  • Questionnaires, Segments, and Campaigns
  • Sales Quotes, Orders, and Pricing
  • Sales Return Orders and Sales Credit Memos
  • Sales & Receivables Reporting
  • Receiving Payments from Customers

Day 3 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) - Purchasing with Business Central

  • Create and Maintain Item Records (UM/Cost/Price)
  • Basic Inventory Flow in Business Central
  • Purchase Orders
  • Purchase Invoices, Return Orders and Credit Memos
  • Payment Terms & Methods
  • Purchase & Payables Reporting
  • Making Payments to Vendors

Day 4 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) - Accounting and Financial Reporting with Business Central

  • Month End Close
  • Journal Entries
  • Banking
  • Audit Trail
  • Chart of Accounts and Posting Groups
  • Dimensions
  • Budgeting
  • Design of Financial Reports with Account Schedules

Day 5 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.) - Basic Inventory Management with Business Central

Please note, during Friday’s session we will be covering capstone material that is critical to your take-aways from this class.  Please schedule your travel after the scheduled conclusion.

Who Should Attend? Managers and staff from Finance, IT, and Operations interested in quickly acquiring a foundational competency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Navigate the software confidently, including sorting, filtering, and searching
  • Leverage the power of profile personalization to make the software styled to an individual’s needs
  • Be familiar with the primary areas of BC used by most companies
  • Perform basic transactions

Advanced Preparation: Each student will receive their own hands-on learning environment via email shortly before class.  Bring to class your own laptop with the training environment connected. We also recommend students bring an external mouse and a travel monitor to have a second screen when working on their laptops.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund will be issued to the student if the student cancels 28 days before the class start date, less applicable fees to process the refund. A 50% refund will be issued to the student if the student cancels less than 28 days and more than 14 days before the start date, less applicable fees to process the refund. No refund will be issued to the student if the student cancels less than 14 days before the start date. At any time, the student may elect to defer the class fee to the next offered class. If a class is cancelled by New View Strategies, the student may select whether to the defer the class fee to the next offered class or receive a full refund.
