In this course, you will learn how to plan, configure, and manage the advanced features in SharePoint 2016, including implementing high availability, disaster recovery, service application architecture, Microsoft Business Connectivity Services, productivity, and collaboration platforms and features. You'll learn the new hybrid features of SharePoint 2016 along with business intelligence solutions, enterprise content management, web content
management infrastructure, solutions, apps as well as how to develop and implement a governance plan and perform an upgrade or migration to SharePoint 2016.

This course is the second in a sequence of two courses for IT professionals and is aligned with the SharePoint 2016 IT Pro Certification.

This course uses Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and incorporates material from the Official Microsoft Learning Product 20339-2: Advanced Technologies of SharePoint 2016.

Who Needs to Attend
• Experienced IT professionals interested in learning how to install, configure, deploy and manage SharePoint 2016 installations either in a data center or in the cloud.
• More than four years' experience with planning and maintaining SharePoint and other core technologies on which SharePoint depends, including Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later, Active Directory Services (AD DS), and networking infrastructure services.
• Hands-on experience or job experience should be from a solutions-based role where the candidate has worked on multiple solutions in the SharePoint space that includes document management, content management, and search.
• Planning and Administering SharePoint 2016 (M20339-1) or have the equivalent knowledge and experience prior to taking this course
• Minimally qualified candidates including those with:
â—¦ Working knowledge of and preferably hands-on experience with SharePoint Online
â—¦ Broad familiarity with SharePoint workloads
â—¦ Experience with business continuity management, including data backup, restoration, and high availability, authentication, and security technologies
â—¦ Experience with Windows PowerShell

Prerequisites
• Minimum one year experience with deploying and administering multiple SharePoint 2013 farms across a large enterprise and mapping business requirements to both logical and physical technical designs
• Planning and Administering SharePoint 2016 (M20339-1) or have the equivalent knowledge and experience prior to taking this course
• Working knowledge of network design, including network security
• Software management in a Windows Server 2012 R2 enterprise server or Windows Server 2016 environment
• Deploying and managing applications natively, virtually, and in the cloud
• Administering IIS
• Configuring AD DS for use in authentication and authorization, and as a user store
• Managing an application remotely by using Windows PowerShell 2.0 or later
• Managing databases and server roles in SQL Server
• Connecting applications to SQL Server
• Implementing claims-based security

Cancellation Policy

We require 16 calendar days notice to reschedule or cancel any registration. Failure to provide the required notification will result in 100% charge of the course. If a student does not attend a scheduled course without prior notification it will result in full forfeiture of the funds and no reschedule will be allowed. Within the required notification period, only student substitutions will be permitted. Reschedules are permitted at anytime with 16 or more calendar days notice. Enrollments must be rescheduled within six months of the cancel date or funds on account will be forfeited.

Wasn’t as advanced as I thought it would be. There was an issue when the day my course was the first time they used a new platform.. from adobe to something called zoom; I had to call support line cause it stated our instructor wasn’t present. Thankfully I called cause everyone online was in the adobe virtual classroom waiting for what looked like a teacher who didn’t show up for class (IT didn’t get anything resolved until 10mins after start time). I felt like he was really getting hung up on very basic knowledge for the first half of the course (talking about how to create tabs and drag formulas as an example). I completed files a few times before he was done explaining. There was a scheduled fire drill for them (roughly 30mins)that also cut into our time, which wasn’t deducted from the hour lunch break or the two, fifteen min breaks. I also really wish he touched base more on the automating workbook functions portion which we barely did. I'm happy there were/are those study guides (learning videos) and exams to take on my own time that I hope after I've had the class are still available for me to learn from.
