Governance - An overview for Emerging Not For Profit Boards
Presented by Mark Ellwood

In this session Mark Ellwood will provide an overview of the five key areas of responsibility for board members in not-for-profit organizations. These functions include direction, oversight, resource allocation, protection, and representation. Mark will outline the key activities that need to take place in each of these areas, and the supporting documents that boards produce to document their work. Relevant examples will be included to bring these theoretical ideas to life. Whether you are a board member, an employee or a front-line volunteer, understanding these key functions will help you understand where boards need to allocate their efforts to keep  organizations vital and on track.

Luncheon Keynote (12:00pm - 1:15pm):

Michel Neray - Everything Starts with a Conversaton

In this interactive presentation, you'll discover how easy it is to engage people in conversations around the work you do - whether you're sitting on the beach in Mexico or sitting across the boardroom table. This is the foundation of effective and authentic networking. You'll learn the customer-centric foundation that the entire Essential Message approach is built on and you'll get the tools you need to make all your communications -- with clients and customers, colleagues, friends and even your family -- more powerful than ever!

Session 2 (1:30pm - 2:45pm):

How to Build an Irresistible Value Proposition
Presented by: Erin Roberts,  Zzeem

High performance organizations have high member satisfaction rates. Member satisfaction is driven by the value proposition that you deliver to your members. This interactive workshop with Erin Roberts gives you assessment tools and tactics to build an irresistible value proposition and deliver on it.

Session 3 (3:15pm - 4:45pm):
