Course Outline
Students attending this course will learn about Cisco’s Unified Communications portfolio, focusing on Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Unity Connection. This course explores the new VMware install options for Cisco products, discusses the new features for Communication Manager, Express and Business Editions as well as Unity, and Unity Connection and Express.   UCM8.x  is a mixture of new feature overviews with hands on technical focus on new options.

Special note

Students are expected to have taken CIPT1 v6 or earlier to have the base knowledge for this course.

Skills taught

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the knowledge to competently manage Cisco's Unified Communications portfolio. An extensive overview of the new UCM features along with ample hands on lab experience, will instill the student with knowledge to implement and manage Communication Manager, Express and Business Editions as well as Unity and Unity Connection and Express.

Course Outline

The modules are as follows:
Module 1 – UC overview, new features, and basic product licensing overview
Module 2 – Administering UCM v8.x, LDAP integrations
Module 3 – IP phone services, redundancy
Module 4 – Dialing rules review, + Dialing, Local Route Groups, Tail End Hop Off (TEHO) with Local Route Groups
Module 5 – Centralized Call Processing Redundancy, SRST, SRSV, Call Forward Un-Registered
Module 6 – MOH and remote site MOH, Call Admission Control, Automated Alternate Routing, RSVP and SIP Precondition
Module 7 – Real Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT)
Module 8 – Call Control Discovery and Service Advertisement Framework
Module 9 – Unified Presence

Lab 1 - Initial Phone setup
Lab 2 - Implementing Basic Multisite Connections
Lab 3 - Implementing a Dial Plan for International Multisite Deployments, + Dialing and Local Route Groups
Lab 4 - Implementing Bandwidth Management
Lab 5 - Implementing CAC
Lab 6 - Implementing Cisco SAF and CCD
Lab 7 - Implementing Unified Communications Manager Native Presence
Lab 8 - Integrating Cisco Unified Presence with Cisco Unified Communications Manager
Lab 9 - Configuring Cisco Unified Presence Features and Implementing Cisco Unified Personal Communicator

Public Schedule - Instructor Led Training:

Group (Dedicated) Training: Cancellation notice of 15 (fifteen) days is required to cancel a private course without penalty. Cancellation of less than 15 (fifteen) days will result in a charge of 100% of the private training cost.

Substitutions of enrolled students in scheduled classes are permitted prior to the class start on the first day. ARP's choice of instructor for any course is subject to change.
