This hands-on course is designed to provide participants with a solid understanding of Microsoft Word. In the courses, participants will gain an understanding of the capabilities of Word & how they can be applied to solve common business problems.
This course is titled Word 2003 Introduction, the first course in the training series. The topics in this course will include:
Starting out including:
- The keyboard and mouse
- The display screen
- Selecting options from the menu, icons or short-cut keys
- Using HELP and the Office Assistant
- Creating a document
- Moving around in your document
- Deleting information in your document
- Inserting new information in your document
- Undoing your actions
- Bolding, underlining and centring text
- Moving and copying information
- Checking for spelling corrections
- AutoCorrect, -Text, -Complete & -Format
- Click and type
- Using the thesaurus
- Document naming
- Saving and opening your document
- Using a template
- Inserting page breaks
- Turning on page numbering
- The ruler
- Adjusting your margins
- Changing the line spacing
- Setting tabs
- Deleting custom tabs and moving tabs
- Creating and using indents
- Changing the size and style of your print

Certificates offered
Included with all course are course notes, a pad for note taking and telephone support following the class. Participants will receive a Certificate of completion

Please note that CL Douglas requires 5 business days notice of your intent to postpone or cancel a course. A fee of not less than $50.00/course to a maximum of the full fee per course is due on the day of the scheduled course if the above condition is not met or if the registrant fails to notify CL Douglas that they will not be attending the course. If you cancel or postpone you will be issued a reference number. Fees for courses due to cancellation, postponement or for failure to notify may at the discretion of CL Douglas be applied to future courses providing enrollment is completed in a two month period from the date of the originally scheduled class.
