Course Outline
This workshop will provide you with the tools to prepare, organize and deliver your ideas in formal and improptu presentations.

Being able to communicate, establish rapport and maintain an assertive and confident approach to others in a variety of situations is crucial in many roles. This practical, hands-on workshop will equip you with proven tools and techniques to effectively communicate your message to colleagues and
clients. Emphasis is placed on presenting your materials clearly, credibly and confidently so that others will listen, buy-in, and act upon your ideas.

Expected Results: Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
  • Speak with increased confidence in business situations - from one-on-one meetings to cold calls, to sales presentations, to impromptu and formal presentations
  • Enhance awareness and understanding of how perceptions impact communications
  • Use proven communication techniques (verbal and nonverbal) that reduce and eliminate misunderstanding
  • Gain greater insights into the use of body language in communications and an ability to read and interpret the body language of others more successfully
  • Choose the appropriate communication strategy to gain commitment from others in meetings and during formal/informal presentations
  • Get the message across and gain audience buy-in by mastering the "Six Forms of Evidence" when communicating to small or large groups
  • Gain the confidence to communicating assertively, responsibly and successfully to all levels in theworkplace
  • Practice the art of active listening
  • Apply best practice techniques to effectively handle objections, resistance, and challenging behaviours.

Cancellation Policy
Delegate substitution is permitted up to and including the day of the workshop. A full refund will be given for cancellations received in writing no later than 2 weeks (10 business days) prior to the start date of the workshop. Any cancellations received after this date will be subject to an administrative fee of 20% (plus GST) of the total fee. No refund will be granted if cancellation is received less than 2 business days prior to the start date of the workshop.

Humber reserves the right to cancel this program due to insufficient registrations and will be responsible for refunding the tuition fee (and GST) only. Should events occur that are beyond our control (instructor illness, inclement weather, etc.), Humber may find it necessary to postpone the training. Should such an event occur, every attempt would first be made to find an equally qualified instructor to present the workshop or reschedule it for a time or times mutually acceptable to both the participant and Humber.
