The Management Skills Program is a three-part workshop delivered in nine days. It is typically delivered over a period of three months with each part of the Program running for three days.
The Program’s goal is to provide managers with the knowledge and skills to get things done more efficiently through better management of their organization’s human capital. Through its unique participative methodology, the program helps managers view their human resources in progressive, innovative ways geared to increasing effectiveness and productivity.
Designed to meet management and supervisory needs, the program’s popularity is due to its focus on the practical skills that apply to the managerial environment of each participant. Each participant is expected to apply specific components of his/her choosing within the workplace and to report back to the group his/her experience.
Specifically, during the three-part program, you will have the chance to:
- Practise your skills in class
- Apply them back on the job, and then,
- Report, discuss and fine-tune your results in the next segment of the program.

PART III
As a leader, you are expected to manage the performance of individuals and teams.
Day 7
The impact of expectations
- Identify the determinants of employee performance.
- How to set appropriate goals and objectives.
- Learn how to perform a job breakdown/task analysis.
- Learn about the advantages of a properly developed employee orientation system.
Day 8
Appraising performance
- Use delegation to manage and develop your employees.
- Learn how to analyze and change inappropriate behaviours through coaching.
- Learn to analyze performance problems more effectively.
- Practise effective employee appraisals and performance review interviews.
Day 9
Applying all you have learned
- Discover how to manage multiple priorities and how to deal with stress in yourself and others.
- Understand your personal reactions to the change process.
- Participate in a program overview specifically designed to reinforce what you have learned in the Program.
- Plan how you will put to use what you have learned from the Management Skills Program.
- You’ll interact through structured group exercises and role-playing.
- Self-scoring inventories; workplace simulations; diagnostic instruments; video case studies; theoretical models: These are the leadership training tools that you’ll use throughout the program.
- The 20-participant limit ensures enough interaction for effective group discussion, yet not so many people that your own input is swamped.
- The program is regularly updated to ensure that you acquire practical skills applicable to today’s managerial environment. What remains constant is the program’s unique segmented, experiential approach that lets managers readily apply their new skills back on the job.

We require 16 calendar days notice to reschedule or cancel any registration. Failure to provide the required notification will result in 100% charge of the course. If a student does not attend a scheduled course without prior notification it will result in full forfeiture of the funds and no reschedule will be allowed. Within the required notification period, only student substitutions will be permitted.
Reschedules are permitted at anytime with 16 or more calendar days notice. Enrollments must be rescheduled within six months of the cancel date or funds on account will be forfeited.
